Whitby Town Football Club is delighted to announce that midfielder, Leon Scott has signed for the club. Defender, Josh Nearney has also left the club by mutual consent.
Scott will be returning to the club for a third spell as Chris Hardy looks to replace recent departures, Andy Monkhouse and Jimmy Beadle who left the club recently.
Whilst the 32 is predominantly a midfielder, he is also able to play in both full-back positions, something that the Blues management may look to make the most of with Nearney departing and injuries currently in those positions.
The player was one of the first signings of Darlington’s renaissance, joining the club for the 2012-13 season where he scored ten goals from midfield.
In his second season with the club, he helped Darlo reach the play-off’s, however he unfortunately picked up an injury early on against Ramsbottom United.
He was also integral in the Quakers’ double promotion winning sides of 2014-15 and 2015-16, deservedly receiving his two promotion medals.
Finally, we would like to thank Josh Nearney for his services to the club and wish him all the best for the future.
