Dennis made his playing debut against Crook Town on October 13th, 1971 in the Northern League Cup. Coincidentally, his final Town game was in the League Cup Final, helping the Seasiders beat Durham City 3-1 on May 10, 1977. Den managed Guisborough Town to the FA Vase Final in 1980, before joining Harry Dunn’s staff in 1996, fetching goalkeeper David Campbell, with him. Den’s worked with 29 keepers, including future Republic of Ireland international Paddy Kenny.
