Whitby Town Football Club is delighted to announce that it will be linking up with Whitby Leisure Centre and Everyone Active.
The club and centre agreed the link-up last week, following a number of meetings between officials.
It will see Whitby Leisure Centre take up an advertising space at the Turnbull Ground each season.
Along with that, WLC will provide free gym memberships for the Whitby Town squad, as well as providing fitness sessions to the Blues’ first-team.
They will also work alongside the Whitby Town FC Foundation, exploring sponsorship options for the club’s work within the community.
Whitby Leisure Centre General Manager, David Arundell, said: “From starting the position at Whitby Leisure Centre, my main priority was to create the community links throughout Whitby and the surrounding local areas providing a great service.
“Having a linked partnership with Whitby Town Football Club was one of the starting points which was at the top of my agenda.
“I am absolutely delighted to have made this possible and look forward to supporting Eddie, Graeme and the team as best we can.”
Whitby Town Football Club chairman, Eddie McNamee, said: “We’re delighted to be able to link up with Whitby Leisure Centre and we’d like to thank them for their support.
“Since the first meeting with David [General Manager], I’ve been impressed with his drive in reconnecting with the community with the centre – using our shared resources together, both parties can really make a positive impact with this link-up.
“His aims are very similar to ours in that respect, and we’re delighted that with this link-up, and the formation of the Soccer School, we are starting to make real inroads in reconnecting with the people of Whitby.”
