Hardy expecting huge challenge against promotion favourites

Chris Hardy is fully aware of the massive challenge that his Whitby Town side will face, as they travel to Evo-Stik Premier Division leaders, South Shields.

The Mariners have an impressive 100% home record in the League, and having also improved their performances on the road, find themselves top of the league, and come into the match having beaten, now second placed, Farsley Celtic last time out.

The Blues themselves come into the tie on the back of an excellent result having defeated North Ferriby United 6-1 last Saturday at the Turnbull Ground, but the Seasiders’ manager knows that things won’t be the same this week.

“Every game in this league is difficult,” said Hardy.

“This will be a completely different test for us though against the league leaders who I personally think will end the season in their current position.

“However, we scored plenty of good goals last time out and I hope that will give us a confidence boosting approach which will be needed for this game. We have a young group who are learning all of the time and games like this one can only be positive learning curves for them.”

In terms of injuries, Chris Hardy yet again only has left-back, Daniel McWilliams to worry about with the rest of his squad available to feature at Mariners Park.

Entry on the day at Mariners Park will be as follows:                                                                                                               Adults: £10                                                                                                                                                                                               Concessions & Students: £8                                                                                                                                                             13-16’s: £3                                                                                                                                                                                           Children aged 12 & under MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult.
