Blues beat competition to secure Monkhouse

Whitby Town Football Club is delighted to announce the its first signing of the 2017/18 campaign, ex-Hartlepool United winger Andy Monkhouse.

Monkhouse, 36, joins from National League North side Alfreton Town and has vast experience in the upper levels of the English game, having made over 400 Football League appearances in his career.

As well as Hartlepool United and Alfreton Town, Monkhouse has appeared for Rotherham United, Swindon Town, Bristol Rovers and Grimsby Town, winning promotion to the Football League with the latter two, back-to-back.

The Blues beat strong competition from elsewhere in the Evo-Stik Premier to secure the midfielder’s signature, making him Chris Hardy’s first addition of the summer.
