Seasiders groundsman Eric Wilson is celebrating netting £12,500 and two awards at the Football Association’s Groundsman of the Year awards.
Wilson, who also netted the Greenfields Evo-Stik Premier Groundsman of the Year earlier this year, walked away from the FA awards a happy man after seeing his hard work rewarded.
The Blues’ pitch maintainer bagged the award for best Groundsman in the Evo-Stik Premier, while also coming in as runner-up in the national award for steps three and four, just losing out to Tunbridge Angels.
The latter award comes with a reward of £12,500 for the club to spend on ground maintenance, repairs and machinery, lending a huge hand to Wilson and the club.
Everyone at Whitby Town would like to congratulate Eric for his awards, and thank him for his hard work, dedication and commitment to providing an excellent playing surface at the Turnbull Ground.
