Rowe is already ‘looking forward to next season’ with Whitby

Whitby Town signed versatile defender Daniel Rowe in January and since joining the Blues Rowe has been a key part of the Whitby defence in the Blues current spike in form.

Rowe has previously played for York, Rotherham United, Stalybridge, Wycombe and Barrow and joined the Blues from Evo-Stick League East Division Frickley Athletic.

Rowe has been with the Blues for exactly three months now and is already looking forward to next season and hopes he and his teammates can push on from this season.

Rowe said: “It’s been really good so far, we have had some good results and hopefully I can be here for another year.

“We need to get the consistency we’ve shown recently nailed down going into next season. I’m really enjoying my time here and I’m already looking forward to next season.”

Whitby are sat comfortably in the middle of the table and have just three games left of the season and Rowe believes that the aim is to secure maximum points before the season ends and hopes the Blues can target a top six finish next season.

Rowe said: “Three games to go and the aim is to win all three, we will be trying to do our best to get maximum points. We have got to go into next season aiming for a top six or top five finish.

“It’ll come with good training and keeping up the good work we are doing. We can focus on the mistakes we’ve made this season and work on these areas and make improvements to our game.”

The Blues are set to travel to Witton Albion this Saturday after suffering a defeat at home against Stafford Rangers this past weekend and Rowe thinks there is room for improvement ahead of this weekend for the Blues.

“In the first half, we were sluggish and slow and we did improve in the second half but we left it to late and there was too much for us to do.

“It was disappointing for us to not match the standards we’ve shown over recent weeks. Saturday this week is a huge game and we are hoping to get a clean sheet and all three points,” Rowe added.
