Chris Hardy has a ‘selection dilemma’ to deal with in the left-back position, as Jassem Sukar returns from suspension ahead of the trip to Hyde United.
Sukar had been impressive prior to receiving his marching orders in the defeat against South Shields at Mariners Park. He had a lengthy run in the side with Daniel McWilliams being ruled out for a lengthy spell.
However, McWilliams returned to the fold in last Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Grantham Town lasting the full 90 minutes leaving the gaffer with a big decision to make.
“It’s a decent situation for us,” said Hardy.
“A selection dilemma is a good thing for us, and something that we’re grateful for. Competition across the pitch can only be a good thing for us.
The Seasiders will be looking to gain revenge after the Manchester side came away with a 1-0 victory back in September, in a disappointing game for the Blues.
The manager looked to take tips from that match when preparing for the trip to Ewen Fields with set-pieces being a key point that was raised.
“They’re usually dangerous from set-plays,” Hardy said.
“They’re well-prepped and well-rehearsed for those situations and we need to be wary of that. We can expect a tough test against some good opposition.
“I can’t honestly say that there is a standout player like we had to deal with in the form of Jordan Adebayo-Smith last weekend, but they work well as a team.”
