Whitby Town is delighted to announce the return of cult hero Kevin Burgess on a one-month loan from Darlington.
The popular defender becomes Chris Hardy’s third signing of the summer, following on from Jamie Poole and Lewis Maloney earlier in the day.
And the centre-half is delighted to be back in Blue after two years away from the Turnbull Ground and is raring to go.
“I’m excited about returning,” Burgess told whitby-town.com.
“This season’s been a bit of a down season for me, I’ve never missed a pre-season in my career but I’ve been training for ten weeks now and now I just need some game time.
“I got the phone call off Tommy [Wright] saying that Whitby Town wanted me on loan for a month so I jumped at the chance.
“I need game time, Whitby are struggling a bit this season after getting close to the play-offs last season, so if I can help them out then everybody is a winner.”
Burgess returns to the Turnbull Ground after previously spending seven years with the club, and will be available for tomorrow’s clash with Coalville Town.
