Whitby Town have swooped for a deadline day signing, extending defender Kevin Burgess’ loan from Darlington until the end of the season.
Burgess rejoined the Seasiders for a second spell early in December, in a bid to regain match fitness and has been ever-present in Chris Hardy’s defence since his debut against Coalville Town.
The combative defender has impressed since his arrival, with his usual full-blooded performances earning plaudits from both Whitby and opposition supporters.
Blues boss Hardy is delighted with the club’s deadline day business, believing the defender to be a now integral part of his side.
“The fact that we have secured Kev’s services until the end of the season is a massive boost to Whitby Town Football Club,” he said.
“He has been excellent from day one. He has given me and his teammates a real lift in knowing we can work together for the remainder of the season.”
