John Campbell will feature in Whitby Town’s squad for the trip to Redcar Athletic on Wednesday night.

Campbell’s short time with the Seasiders has been a frustrating one with injuries interfering with his game time.

However, Chris Hardy confirms that the former Newcastle Benfield man will be in his plans for Wednesday evening.

“John Campbell will be in the squad. Hopefully all being well, John Campbell will play some part in tomorrow night’s game.”

Hardy may also be looking at Campbell to provide some fire power against Athletic after admitting he’s expecting a tough game.

“We’re expecting Redcar to be competitive. We’re expecting them to treat the game like their cup final. We’re expecting a difficult evening.”

For the second game running, York City loanee Ryan Whitley, will be unavailable to feature in between the sticks.

Despite the key absentee, Hardy will have the majority of his squad available to choose from at Green Lane.

The Blues manager is also using the game as an opportunity to find a winning formula after a poor run of form.

“It’s a chance to get this elusive win that we haven’t managed to get in recent weeks. There’s a lot of importance on the game.

We’re the holders of the North Riding Cup so we want to make a good fist of it in terms of defending the trophy.”

Kick off at Green Lane is at 7:45 in Wednesday evening with live coverage on Whitby Town Radio with Liam Ryder and Matty Berry.
