Jack Norton is the latest member of Chris Hardy’s squad to be added to the injury list this season, after picking up a suspected muscular injury in Tuesday 3-0 victory at Matlock Town.
To Norton’s credit, he continued on the in the match despite clearly carrying a concerning injury. Fortunately for him, any action needed was minimal against a lacklustre home side.
As a result of this injury, Chris Hardy turned to Bishop Auckland goalkeeper, Adam McHugh who is expected to make his debut this afternoon after arriving on an initial month’s loan.
Jimmy Beadle is also expected to play a part in today’s proceedings. The midfielder returned to the club this week in search of more game time, something not being received at Scarborough Athletic.
David McTiernan, however, will be unable to play a part due to his ongoing injury lay-off as a result of an event in the opening day victory over Buxton.
Striker, Ash Coffey is a definite absentee as he continues his recovery from an injury picked up with his previous club, Marske United.
Greg Rutherford also continues to be concern for Chris Hardy and his staff. The striker did play against Hednesford Town last Saturday, however this was an initially reluctant decision from Hardy who was aware that the former Blyth and Spennymoor man needed more time to recover.
Supporters who have secured their place on the bus, this will be leaving the Turnbull Ground at 11:15 this morning to head up to Whitley Bay.
Unfortunately, due to broadcasting rights, there will be NO LIVE commentary on Yorkshire Coast Radio, however there will be continued updates on Facebook and Twitter as well as post-match reaction from Chris Hardy.
