Report - Whitby Town stumbled past a determined Northallerton Town side, to reach the semi-finals of the North Riding Senior Cup. Fielding a near full strength side, but without the injured Craig Veart and Nick Scaife, Whitby dominated the possession, although the home side came closest to scoring when John Ryan hit the post from 18 yards out.
The sticky pitch was a leveller and Whitby hardly looked likely to score during the second half, until Steve Johnson found space on the left hand side of the box and he fired low past former Fushburn keeper Sam Dobbs in the Northallerton goal.
Whitby will now play either Guisborough, Scarborough or Middlesbrough in the Semis.
