Campbell signing confirmed

Whitby Town have completed the signing of Andy Campbell from Bradford Park Avenue. The former England U21 international has been on loan at the Turnbull for the past three months after being pushed out of the picture at the Horsfall. Manager Harry Dunn managed to persuade the Middlesbrough based striker that his future lay at the Turnbull. Campbell has hit 5 goals in 9 games for the Blues. This signing comes on the back of confirmation that Leon Scott has signed on for the remainder of the season after being released by Harrogate Town.

Blott released, Reay signs on

Ryan Blott has returned to Scarborough Athletic after Blues boss allowed the striker to leave. Blott who scored in the first game of the season has struggled to make an impact and has fallen down the pecking order. Whitby have also signed striker Shaun Reay from Shildon. Reay was a hero of the Blyth Spartans FA Cup run last season, scoring against Shrewsbury, but fell out of favour at Croft Park before joining Shildon in the summer.

New signings confirmed

Whitby Town have completed the signings of Ryan Blott from Scarborough, Matty Tymon from Hartlepool, Christian Hanson from Billingham Synth, Tom Woodhead from Hull City and Rob Jones from New Marske. This is on top of the signing of Denny Ingram from Harrogate Town, Ged Dalton and Alex Gildea from Blyth and Ibrahim Hassan from Chester le Street.

Blues thrilled at new link-up with sports college

Whitby Town Football Club is thrilled to be formalising its link with George Pindar Community Sports College for the coming season.
The college took over the running of Scarborough Football Club's Football in the Community and Scarborough Academy after the Seadogs' demise in 2007.

It aims to promote participation and excellence in football across the borough.

The college's director of community sports delivery and former Whitby Town stalwart, Mitch Cook, is keen that appropriate players from the academy have the opportunity to progress to play for Whitby Town.

Cook is also keen for college students to have the opportunity to watch Whitby Town play, particularly as four players – new skipper Tony Hackworth, Jimmy Beadle and new signings Denny Ingram and Ged Dalton – all work for the college.

Whitby Town chairman Graham Manser believes it is a fantastic opportunity for both organisations and thanks the college for backing the club.

He hopes that between both organisations, they can produce some players of a high standard.
