Report - Whitby Town travelled to Marine for their UniBond League game and duly left with all three points after an excellent first half display.
Whitby never allowed the home side to settle during the first 45 minutes and they took the lead 12 minutes in through Scott Nicholson after Anthony Ormerod's neat through ball. It got better for Town on 40 minutes when Ormerod's shot from rebound back from the upright but the former Boro man reacted quickly by following his effort up and heading home from a few yards out.
It was 3-0 2 minutes later when David McTiernan found room to shoot home.
The home side then handed themselves a lifeline a minute before the break when Kay's free kick eluded Escritt.
After the break it was a different story and Town didn't have shot on target as Marine tried to follow up their midweek comeback from 3 down with another.
On 68minutes Thurston made it 2-3 to lift the home fans.
Marine had a goal chalked off with 2 minutes left much to their disgust as Escritt was fouled in the box.
Two wins out of two for Dave Logan as manager and Whitby remain in 4th spot.
