Report - In a ding dong game at the Ginat Axe, Whitby threw away a winning position after recovering from being 2-0 down.
It was the Seasiders who started brightest and they went close on a couple of occassions, Craig Veart and Lee Ure the men. The home side struck first though when a ball from Neill Prince caused confusion in the Whitby box and Steve Jones struck a powerful shot from the edge of the area past Adam Clementson.
Lancaster increased their lead nine minutes later when Prince scored.
Lancaster seemedin control of the game in the second half, but Whitby grabbed a goal back when Craig Veart scored from Antony Ormerod's cross. A minute later Town were level when Gary Browne scored his first ever Whitby goal when he fired home from Paul Campbell's through ball.
Browne soon had his second goal two minutes later, whena poor clearance from the Lancaster keeper ended up at Brownes feet and he planted the ball in the bottom corner. Amazingly Whitby were now leading.
The lead lasted all of two minutes, Jamie Hughes lobbing Clementson and he followed that up with the winner ten minutes later with a header from Prince's cross.
